Care & winter storage

Longer storage needs preparation matched to the battery and vehicle.

Before storage

Clean and dry the vehicle, inspect visible damage and have due maintenance performed. Follow the manual for tyre pressure and secure parking. Petrol models also require manufacturer instructions for fuel, engine and starter battery.

No single charge level fits every battery

Do not store lead-gel/VRLA batteries deeply discharged. Lithium-ion and LFP systems require the conditions and inspections specified for the actual battery. Avoid generic percentages or charging intervals where the manual says otherwise.

Follow approved instructions for temperature, charge limits and any battery disconnection. Protect terminals against short circuits.

Returning to service

Before riding again, check tyres, brakes, lighting, fluids and battery condition. Contact service first if anything is abnormal. Professional inspection can be appropriate after prolonged storage.
