Charging from a socket

With the approved charger and a suitable socket, charging becomes part of your routine.

Before connecting

Check the version’s manual and the charger’s mains requirements. A domestic socket is suitable only if its installation, protection and the charger connection are appropriate. Do not use damaged plugs, cables or sockets. Ask a qualified electrician if unsure.

A safe charging location

Charge in a dry, ventilated location on a suitable surface. Keep escape routes clear and the charger away from flammable objects. Do not cover the charger or battery. Follow the manual’s temperature limits, connection sequence and completion instructions.

Avoid improvised adapters and chained extension leads. Remove a fitted battery only where this is expressly intended.

Use the right charging time

Charging time depends on the model. A green indicator or full bar can mean different things on different systems. Follow the manual and supplied or approved charger; do not transfer one charging time to every Volta vehicle.
